ILAISIA G. TUKUAFU

Managing Director

Ilaisia has been around construction since he was a child working alongside his Father, and picking up the trade from him. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from BYU-Hawaii. During college he worked two years as a Handyman with the maintenance team managing three of the Schools dormitories, and for the final year as a Junior Accountant for the University. Prior to his role as Managing Director he was an Executive Director in charge of the Management and Delivery of OPI’s projects. He has been an approved Project Manager for the Major projects of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 2011. Over the years he has been at the forefront of Project Negotiations, Project Management, and the delivery of numerous projects for the Church, Government, and Aid Projects. He is a result oriented driven manager with an eye for the finer details required on high end projects. He has continually delivered consistent results by assembling the right mix of teams, and leading them through the delivery process.

TAUFA KAUFUSI

Construction Manager

Taufa commenced employment with OPI in 2006 as a general laborer. He holds a Level 3 Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery from Tonga Institute of Science and Technology, and a Diploma in Construction from the Australia Pacific Technical College. Since he started with OPI he has worked as a Project Foreman, Joinery Shop Production Manager, Procurement and Logistics Personnel, and as a Site Manager. He was approved as a Site Manager for Major projects for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 2015, and since has managed and delivered projects in throughout all of Tonga.

‘Atelea Tai

Construction Manager

‘Atelea started employment with OPI in 1993 as a general laborer. In the past 27 years he has progressed through the ranks of Project Foreman, Site Manager and now a Senior Site Manager. He has been an approved Site Manager for Major projects for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 2007. In 2011 he became the first in Tonga to complete the Level 3 Carpentry and Joinery Trade Certificate by testing out of the program in 3 months rather than taking the 4-year course. He has a wealth of experience in the management and delivery of Church meetinghouses, Aid Projects, and Foreign Government Projects throughout Tongatapu and it’s outer islands.
